The history of food as nutrition in TCM goes back to to the Eastern Han Dynasty 220AD.
The ancient practitioners used food such as Chinese dates, ginger, sesame seeds,
wolf berries, lotus seeds and others to strengthen body, aid illness and prevent disease.
The food was the first line of defense to fight off cold, illness and disease.
